Taco Rebellion!

They say that at Taco Bell you must think outside the box. This goes doubly for those who work there. However, thinking outside the box can usually get you in trouble. With that in mind, I'd like to get into my next blog.

Recently at work our Regional General Manager (or big boss) went on maternity leave. Congratulations to Christine Trott, by the way, I heard your delivery was great! I digress : When the RGM left, someone needed to take her place. This person was is our Assistant Manager. This woman doesn't know what the hell she's doing. Our schedule is always screwed up (unless it's her shift), I've worked 7 weeks of straight nights, she screws up the inventory, doesn't order enough product for the store, and the wrost part of it all is I think she's out to get me...

Now I know I'm a paranoid person, this fact causes me to be cautious about anything I think about, but this is getting too obvious. Several attempts to get me written up, sending 'spies' on my shift to see how my procedures are going, sending me the 'worst' crew members for shift (literally), even going over tapes with a Region Manager to count my smoke breaks to see if they're in excess. Did I mention she also only gave me 3 days of manager training instead of the 2 weeks people are supposed to get?

The seven weeks of nights alone is enough to piss me off. My sleep schedule is screwed, and she knows I'm trying to get days so I can get my driving school in schedule. I'm not sure what her problem is, but on the other hand me and her have always butted heads. I've even yelled at her in front of crew members (The store looked like crap!), something I enjoyed a bit too much..

I made a call to my RGM, something I regret doing considering it was her leave time, but there are so many people (managers and crew) ready to walk out that it's crazy. Christine put so much work into this store before she left. She brought it up from the worst store in the county to the third best. Now we look pathetic again. I feel like I really let her down, and hardly any of it is my fault. It's just so crazy.

The other manager, Scott, has started lying about me. Saying that he had to come get me during a smoke break because they needed help inside, when he knows damn well I've always got a headset on and check on the crew constantly during any time I'm outside. What the heck?! Does my presence cause this kind of a reaction to everyone?

she is out to get you...

beware!!!

she's not out to get you (do all teenagers think that way? yes.). geezus, the whole world is a conspiracy against teenagers. she's just self-centered and has tunnel vision. unable to empathize of consider the needs of others. not untypical of people in management positions, gotta look out for number one while stepping on other on the ladder up. unfortunately, unless you have a great relationship with the RGM, you're probably gonna get screwed. or, MUTINY! gather the other potential-walk-out employees together to represent reality during her leave. Rally against the idiots. (rallying against the idiots is a tried-and-true approach you can use is just about any life situation. i carry a beating stick for when I'm out numbered by idiots)

Additionally, doesn't it seem a little weird that the RGM didn't follow the normal chain of command by having the General manager take her place? Why the Ass(GM)? And don't regret going above someone's head. Why feed into their superiority complex by obeying the ignorant rule? Knock them in their place, let them know there is always a bigger fish, and in your case, a smarter one too.

You should consider a Taco Bloodless Coup instead.

Fleur, how dare ye compare me to angsty teens! I'm twenty two f'n years old!

And I do have a great relationship with the RGM, which is why I went ahead and made the call I did. I finally confronted the assistant manager about everything, and told her if she didn't stop I'd demote myself until Christine got back. She flipped out (considering we're so short handed already for Managers) and hasn't given me any trouble since.

Christine had a C-Section though, I recently heard, and won't be back for another 2-3 weeks. So little time left... so much drama to be seen.. Christine has been seen a few times at the store. She checks the schedule and product counts, then leaves... which is not surprising considering the two things I laid out as problems were those two items. I also told her that she's going to have alot of complaints and grievance reports against Crystal when she got back, so she could come talk to me -last-

As for why the assistant manager took the position, it was Christine's decision. The other store was supposed to send a 'more qualified' person, but in return they wanted one of us to work over there during another managers leave.. and that other store is a wreck. I've worked there once... and they had to pay me 20 bucks up front for me to just give it a chance. Every other manager declined... quickly. I heard they offered another manager 50 bucks, and he still turned it down! Christine didn't like the idea of her workers having to endure that place, so things were done about it. Christine is so awesome... too bad she's married and just had a kid =/ When she comes back I might have to quit. She was a hottie while she was preggo. After she drops all that weight it'd be conflict of interest. I wouldn't know which taco to fill with meat!! OMG!

And by the way, the world -is- out to get me. I just relocate too much for them to catch up.

I wasn't calling you a teenager in angst. That comment was directed to the first commenter. I'm glad things look like they are working out, bit by bit. And that taco meat comment, just disturbing man. DISTURBING.

You love it, don't deny the taco love.

So I hope that things have started to improve around the store by now. =/ If not...then I wish you the best of luck.

Sorry for such a short reply, but I have to get some sleep; however, I will be able to comment more frequently now. I finally have internet at my apartment! =D Big accomplishment there for me! ^_^

As an update things have gotten halfway decent. Christine came back and she's daily suprised by all the crap that Crystal pulled while she was away. I'm still thinking about moving again though, I really can't trust those people right now. =/

I've got a vacation comming up, so maybe I'll just take the time to cool off.
