This is customer support, I'm 1337, how can I help you?

I am sick and tired of hearing about these Ex-Hackers who have turned into big shots at some customer support place. I'm sick and tired of hearing about saftey issues between Windows vs Linux vs OSX. I'm sick and tired about hearing "This browser pwnz your browser" or if you do one thing you're at risk.

You know who usually gets onto you about these things? Hackers. The people who know the most about how in danger you are and the first person to warn you will be the people you've got to protect yourself from.

I just got out of a conversation with someone who is paid big money over at Earthlink for customer support and computer annalysis. He's worked there one year, but for 15 years before that he was a hacker. He was on FBI lists, he hacked government files, he basicly screwed anyone with an OS that he could get into. This kind of man gets the big bucks nowadays.

Yet he'll continue to to sit and tell you about how unsafe your computer is, disregarding the fact that people like him are the reason we have to protect ourselves to begin with.

I don't want to hear about how I am an idiot for using Outlook Express, or that I'm completely stupid for not getting an IP Ghoster when using DSL. I'm tired of hearing "Linux pwnz Windows cuz U R A N00b and still use IE. Firefox owns"

If it wasn't for dolts like you, I could sit and be happy with IE. I could be happy using WinXP and just live out a fun little existance online when I decide to be here. The more I get into any given online community the more I find that i'm at risk for even being known! This is pathetic! Then you've got the nerve to act like you're better because you know something I don't, how to stop losers like you.

Identity theft, virus's, hackers, DoS'ers, Trojans, ect.... if you do any of this crap you are the freaking reason that Microsoft is making so much money for updates. You complain about how you hate Bill Gates/Microsoft or anyone who's making money off your internet time when you're doing nothing but corrupt the system and making them spend more money to fix the dang thing, which comes out of the users pocket which is (OH MY GOD!) YOU!

Grow up.

Unfortunately, we live in a world of human beings who love nothing more than to take a good, innocent thing like the Internet, and turn it into a weapon. People can't just split the atom and be done with it, they have to make a bomb and blow s**t up.

When you make the decision to go online, you accept the terms: One of those terms being: "you could be hacked if you're not careful". End of story. No real room to be upset if and when it happens.

Nine times out of ten, the internet is occupied by people who don't know what they're doing. But without hackers, that shouldn't be a problem, but there are hackers and it is. The people who are using Firefox are the same people who wear orange when they're out hunting.

Truth of the matter is, and I've said it a million times, Microsoft makes s**tty software. Adobe doesn't, Macromedia doesn't, but Microsoft does. It would be wise of you to swap anything that you're using (that you can) with something that is not made by Microsoft. For example, instead of Outlook, use Thunderbird (made by the same guys who make Firefox).

As for being a hacker. Anyone could be a hacker, easily (<-- not even kidding).

Agreed, I know that there's a legitimate problem that can't be overlooked I'm just tired of people who just have to find themselves an enemy. I consistantly use Firefox or Opera browsers. I'm in the process of getting money so I can buy something other than Windows. I'm just tired of walking into a place where I sit and worry about my computer while I sit and play games. Just had to get it off my chest, I realize there's a problem that we can't turn our back on, and I'm trying to protect myself carefully. I'd just rather put my armor on while saying my peice instead of walking in line.

People hack Microsoft(and Internet Explorer) because it's the biggest target.

If Firefox becomes the mainstream web browser that everyone uses, plenty of vulnerabilities will be found, and exploited.

If Macintosh was the mainstream computer used, there would be very few virii for Windows, and the same would hold true if Linux was the mainstream type.
