He's come and gone...
What is it with magic that has been bothering me lately? I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I got around to thinking about religion as well too.
Like what would happen if Jesus actually came back? Who would believe him? I would place 20 bucks on the table that Jesus is in some asylum right now doped up on morphine and wondering why in the heck he even tried a second time.
And speaking of that, why do people consider magic evil? Jesus was able to perform all kinds of magic! He says that the people on earth have the same powers that he had, so why in the heck aren't we turning my tap water into wine yet? Either that or chocolate milk, or at least kool-aid. I'd rather not bathe in it, but whenever I'm thirsty I'd love to be able to turn on the faucet and get a glass of Brandy. I mean, if I can walk on water, and call it a miracle instead of magic, would that be ok?
How would we figure out who Jesus is when he came back anyway? I mean, if some bum came up one day, having a life altering vision, and called himself the second Moses and made the boston harbor split in two... how fast would the CIA lock him away and do tests on him? "i'm sorry sir, 'God made me do it' just isn't something we're willing to believe."

You have been getting very deep lately. I am sensing inner turmoil. All very good points though. They always say if Jesus comes back it will be as a normal looking human being, or as a bum or something. Would anyone believe him if he came up as a nasty grungy looking homeless guy, or would they call him a drunken bum and tell him to f off? All very good points. I think I'd like my tap water to be a chocollate milkshake though. I dunno about the Brandy. My face itches. |

I'll throw this in. I believe Jesus existed, but as with time and 'telephone games' his reputation grew bigger than the reality. He was probably a smart dude who realized just like us, that the society he was in was too fucked up to exist, so he led a group of people to think differently. The he was killed and his fans and followers made him larger than life. Now, many people kill in his name, which is totally not what he intended. I'm not angry, we just know that we evolved from apes and deal with it. Rock on BIG DOG! |

#1) I always get a angry vibe from all caps too, guess I'm gonna have to get used to that.
#2) Whatever jesus did was his and his own to understand. Followers are just that, followers. We believe what is told. If I'm wrong, then there's nothing after life. But if I'm right I'll be rewarded... I don't see a real loss here. Either way I get what's going to come to me, and either way I go I'll get the exact thing that is intended.
oh, and might I add, that is now in serious study if we evolved from apes or not. They say that alot of "evolutionary steps" in the formation of skeletal structure and skull structure of fossels found that it is now scientifically unproveable that we evolved from apes. Too many stages skipped, they say. Too many things not found. It's still just a theory, same as religion. I just happen to believe in mine more than yours.
I didn't mean for this to turn into a religious debate. It's one of those hot button topics like feminism. I respect your opinions, but BIGDOG, I'm gonna have to ask you not to sit and tell me I'm wrong when you have no proof to the latter. I might me mistaken, but I'll find out for myself in the end. State an opinion, don't shove it down someone's throat. |
