I've got to think of something...(Brainstorm Session, feel free to comment)

Well as of this point and time I'm an [a href="http://www.thelosthaven.com"]advisor[/a] on one forum, and an [a href="http://www.sgcartoon.com"]administrator[/a] on another. I feel that it's a bit of a responsibility to promote activity on both forums, more-so where I'm an advisor. So what should I do? Hmm.. Thought #1 : Debates Debates are always fun, as long as you have clear headed people. On the Haven I know that we could have civil debates, or could have anyway. We've got alot new people since our last debate on the insane political problems with gay marrages (Which this one didn't turn out great, but we had a good debate), and I'm not sure how mature the new people are to debating. On Cartoon, on the other hand, I've seen previous debate issues that got out of hand on the previous forums. Have they grown up since then? Personally, a debate will go no matter what side I'm on. I'll purposely take the other side of what someone says just to have a filling debate where people believe it's active and all sides are accounted for, thusly no one's afraid to speak thier mind (Just so long as they speak it cleanly and without hostility, that is). I just think that a debate over the dynamic beliefs of violence in videogames vs. the effects on children would go great, but I can see many ways that it could get out of hand. (Pointing fingers, cursing, anger, ect.) These are the things you avoid in a true debate, as you don't point fingers, you point out flaws (calmly) in the other persons argument and then point out the facts of yours. I'll have to tweak this one out... Thought #2 : Would the awards work here too? On the Haven I helped create an awards system, this promoted a healthy bit of activity for a little while, but I had alot to work with there. On Cartoon? I haven't a clue what I would award people for. We don't have too much on things that I could award people for, not to mention that the forum on Haven required alot of re-configuration and coding to allow the awards to be shown off, and I think Timbo has his hands full with this place right now. Still, a good idea for down the road when we get a higher fan base... Thought #3 : What are we missing? I need to compare the two fora (Haven and Cartoon) to see what one has that the other doesn't. Combining forces, as it were, in the detail and content would boost activity and possibly population. Haven is a private community, and thusly doesn't have many members (around 400 members, 100 of which are constantly active on the boards) but we have alot to discuss considering we go over a broad variety of games. On Carton, however, the only pull in is the Flash's, which are going about bi-monthly to tri-monthly at this point. Thusly we don't have much in the ways of content. With more content, more activity will come. Thought #4 : There is no #4 No, really. That's it. I'm done.
