Blog!
Finishing up with my D&D game tonight (6K exp away from level 12 yo! Woohoo!) I figured it was about time to write in the blog.
I've got a few things I want to put in here, so let's get to it.
Delays...
I'm getting sick of the delays my boss is putting on our job. I know it's not his fault that he can't be demanding and tell the owners of the Palm Springs area that the job deserves to us, and I understand that if I'm not working.. neither is he and that I'm not getting screwed here.
But what I can blame him for is for the past four days I've been pushed back, DAY BY DAY, on a work date to put a marbel tile into a house. This means that for the past four days I've had to ruin plans over and over for various things and I don't know what the hell is going to happen next. With the idea that I'll be getting 100 bucks a day under the table, I'll keep doing it.. but I'm not going to enjoy it.
Dungeon but no dragon
Tragg Trekk is my Halfling Rogue/Scout (6/5). He has been in a campaign revolving around dragons and the like (What other D&D game is there?) for the past... oh... about 4 months. We entered into a Dungeon today where every door I open, I have to search and disable a trap.
Now, I don't know if anyone else does this, but in my experience a Rogue will get an XP bonus for successfully finding and disabling a trap... all-be it a small one (100-300xp depending on DC) but still.
I found and disarmed 5 DC20 magical alarm traps on doors. One flame-jet (fire fingers) trap with a DC25 and craftily disabled (Not disarmed, mind you) stopped a petrification trap by putting a cloth over the eyelets (true rogue craftyness if you ask me).
I didn't get a damn bit of a bonus. Lovely!
A grimm wake and brothers abound
The family went to see "The Brothers Grimm" today. decent movie, although it could of been better. I really don't have much to say about it other than... it's worth a look if you've followed the tales, or you're 12 years old.
But the movie "Four Brothers" on the other hand is definately worth a look. Now I know some people that disagree with this movie for certen reasons without even seeing it.
One disagreement was the so called "Catch Phrase" of "They came home to bury thier mother... and her killer."
Come on, it's a "Revenge/Drama" movie. What other kind of catch phrase do you expect there to be?
The other disagreement that I laugh at is the meniacle words of a man who lives in this house. He's my soon to be Father in law, and the man talks in such foulable logic that it's laughable at times.
If you know anything about the movie, you know that the "Four Brothers" movie revolves around the four brothers being different races, two black and two white. He complains about this because he decides that they "Must do this so that the movie doesn't offend anyone and it's pollitically correct"
Dude, shut the hell up. The movie was written like that for certen key points in the script as well as a nice look at the imagination that THERE ARE MANY FAMILIES LIKE THAT AROUND THE WORLD.
Second was that he complained that it was a revenge movie itself.
Well, of course. If there's going to be a complaint, Bob (that's his name) can make it. And he will say it in such a tone that says if you say otherwise, a fight will happen... so you tend to listen because after living with him for a while you don't want to step on toes due to the fact that "HE IS ALWAYS RIGHT" and there's no proving him wrong. It's not worth the headache... trust me.
And that's all for me.
